Writing a Blog

This is our 10th blog post. TENTH, omg. [Blog: a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.] Blogs can be a gateway into earning respect and credibility in your professional field. Well, I absolutely LOVE my profession of choice, so in honor of this being the 10th Blog Post, let’s talk about how it works.

Breaking design trends blog

I, Brittanya, have personally written every single one of these posts. Yes, all. of. them. I’d be lying if I said I was never down to the wire completing a post prior to the “due date”. It truly is a love / hate relationship. I’m not a writer, I went into design to have the least amount of term papers to write, but I do enjoy coming up with and writing about the topics I’m passionate about. My main priority and challenge for this blog is to make each topic different than the majority of other design blogs out there.

Here’s how ours operates: Each and every post goes out privately to all email subscribers on the last day of each month. The post goes live on our site the first day of every month at noon. We do have a separate email (Designer Blueprint) that is sent out on the 15th of every month that goes out only to our private email subscribers.

It’s better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.

Breaking Design Trends is the name of our blog. Coming up with new blog posts takes tons of effort and time. The subject, topic, format, body and title are all the factors that have to be thought through each and every time. This is our B L O G: once a month, emailed on the last day and live on our website the first of the new month.

Our Designer Blueprint goes out every month on the 15th to our private email subscribers only. These emails are short, sweet and are loaded with tons of great information related to the design world. The topic and subject rotates monthly.

Tips from the Trade: How To’s, Useful tips, anything and everything that is helpful in design.

You Guessed It: Game - educational games that test your design knowledge :)

Blend This!: How to combine two design styles - Do you like Coastal and Farmhouse? These emails will simply show how to combine two popular design styles

Style Swap: How to switch from one style to another - We teach different techniques for how to transition between one design style to another without breaking the bank.

Writing a blog isn’t for everyone. Hell, I really didn’t think it was for me. It takes tons of time, energy and effort. I don’t know if I’ll personally be able to keep this up in the future, but for now, these are, in fact, written by yours truly.

ENJOY!
